THE FEAR OF A POSTAL STRIKE CREATES BOOM TIME FOR AMSTRAD EM@ILER

Despite being overruled the threat of a postal strike and being cut off from written communication has resulted in Britons sending emails in their droves, according to figures released by Amstrad today. The company which manufactures the Amstrad e-m@iler, the email and internet enabled superphone, have reported a massive increase in sales of the unit and number of emails being sent by e-m@iler users in the UK. Since the strike became imminent traffic on the Amstrad e-m@iler has increased by 7%.

According to Simon Sugar, Amstrad’s Commercial Director: “As fears of a postal strike loomed, the general public appeared to feel they could no longer place so much faith in the post office. This has resulted in more and more people turning to email communication as a cheap, reliable and effective way of communicating. Users are now even more aware that they can send several emails for around 17p whereas communication by post would be 28p – it’s a no-brainer! Consequently sales have increased and email traffic is at an all time high and continues to increase daily.”

The fear of the postal strike encouraged those people who are not connected to email already to look for a cheap and reliable solution to send and receive email. Amstrad believe they offer the perfect solution with their emailerplus superphone!

The cost of sending a letter with a first class stamp is 28p, with an e-m@iler you can send as many emails as you wish in one session costing just 17p. The e-m@iler sells for around £49 and brings email, the Internet, and SMS texting, to a fully featured telephone.
