1 October 2002 PHONE BILLS ON YOUR PHONE Amserve, the Amstrad plc subsidiary and One.Tel, the UKs leading alternative telecommunications provider, have teamed up to extend the availability of phone bills on-line to those UK homes that do not have a PC with an Internet connection. Through the tie-up with Amserve, which recently launched the e-m@ilerplus, One.Tel have another way in which to send emails to their customers prompting them to view their bill on the devices screen. The new e-m@ilerplus, dubbed by Amstrad the billboard in the home, is already being used by One.Tel as a way of attracting new customers and they in turn will be promoting the e-m@ilerplus to their existing customer base. The unit has an integrated cost-saver facility and can be set up to route calls automatically onto One.Tel low call rates. Around one-third of our customers already opt for receiving their bill on-line through our Virtual Customer Service Centre, so it is a great opportunity for us to reach those homes that havent before been in a position to access this service, explained Alex Campbell from One.Tel. Simon Sugar, Amstrads commercial director said: We believe the e-m@ilerplus is ideal for One.Tel as an advertising platform, as a call routing device and as a way of communicating billing and other information to their customers.
